Raised in a secular Jewish family, Tom Levinson's interest was piqued by a class on world religions. He enrolled at Harvard Divinity School but longed to discover how faith was experienced in ordinary, everyday lives. Following graduation, he embarked on a year-long road trip in search of religious America, finding his own faith in the process.
