Announcement of Nehemiah Grants:  Scripture tells us Nehemiah was an Israelite who accomplished the great task of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem.  His task required great courage and initiative along with a passion for the welfare of his city. The Chicago Sunday Evening Club is proud to announce the availability of Nehemiah Grants for organizations that are using their faith in action to build and promote the welfare of our city.   The grants will typically be $1,000, with capability to go as high as $10,000 under special circumstances. They will be available to assist greater Chicagoland organizations pursue their missions that are also consistent with those of the Chicago Sunday Evening Club.

Specifically, we at the Chicago Sunday Evening Club are looking to support:

  • Media production directed at the Chicago business community that addresses moral and ethical issues our city faces every day (i.e. homelessness; immigration; prison reform);

  • Lectures and conversations of vital importance to faith and work;

  • Faith-inspired art and music that beautifies and elevates our common life together; and

  • Organizations which work to weave faith into the fabric and actions of our city’s institutions.

Application deadline is July 31st.
